Are the rebuilds you able to eliminate the actual issue the. Engine has, so that after. 50K it does not die again? Also as I am in CANADA. Would you sell the parts for me to rebuild here or are they simply standard LR parts? Thanks Keith
Hi Keith,
The issue the V6 engines tend to have is with the thermostat housing cracking – being plastic and located in the hottest part, the V of the engine, does not help! If a leak from the thermostat housing is not recognised in time the loss of coolant will eventually blow the head gasket(s).
There is a solution we have found to this and that is to fit a metal thermostat housing and pipes. We can supply the metal thermostat, either fitted to one of our reconditioned engines or as a part, for £245.83 (excl. VAT).
Certainly we can supply you with the parts required for an engine rebuild. If you just need the standard rebuild items the total is £980.54 (excl. VAT) plus shipping, which to Canada would be £95.
All the best,
Sue

Good afternoon,
I have a 1989 Morgan Plus Four with the M16 engine at 60000 miles and scarred big ends. There is a rattling like a ball bearing in a empty spray can between 2500 and 3000 rpm. If inspection proves that a rebuild is necessary or a new engine required would you be able to help? Thank you .
Good Morning Ian,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Although it would be wonderful to see a Morgan in our workshops unfortunately we do not rebuild the M16 engines only the K, KV6 and the L series. Sorry we can not help in this instance.
All the best,
Sue
